Ubuntu Bali Teachers
“True yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life. Yoga is not to be performed; yoga is to be lived. Yoga doesn’t care about what you have been; yoga cares about the person you are becoming. Yoga is designed for a vast and profound purpose, and for it to be truly called yoga, its essence must be embodied.”
~ Aadil Palkhivala

Nikki
Nikki was inspired to start practising and teaching yoga through her own healing journey. Following her diagnosis with severe scoliosis after finishing high school, she experienced chronic pain for most of her life. However, practising yoga, especially Ashtanga, transformed her life and made her feel stronger and healthier, both physically and mentally. Although she previously worked as a fashion designer and had a completely different lifestyle, becoming a yoga teacher allowed her to fulfil her focus on healing and finding her true purpose in life.
Growing up in Bali, she was instilled with a strong sense of community and service to others. Yoga provided her with an opportunity to transcend her own limitations and conditions, leading her to help people in her community during the pandemic through yoga practices. What drew her to teaching yoga was the karma of yoga, which allowed her to help others.
At present, she is expanding her knowledge and offerings in the field of holistic health. Since embarking on her yoga journey, she has become interested in raw food and detoxification and is in the process of completing her certification as a holistic nutrition and detox coach. She has also travelled to Rishikesh, India, to deepen her study of yoga.
As someone who has experienced the benefits of practising yoga with proper nutritional support during her own healing process, she now incorporates this knowledge into her teaching. She is grateful to be where she is now, sharing her passion and joy for the healing path while fulfilling her purpose of helping others.

Aliki
She is Balinese, culture and spirituality are in her blood.
She discovered yoga in 2008 and has experienced profound benefits from her practice ever since. After leaving years of busy career in the fashion industry, she found healing through Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, which helped her recover from chronic shoulder injuries. This transformation led her to deepen her knowledge at Yoga.Karta Elite Yoga School, where she earned her certification of ERYT 500 Hours (YACEP) Yoga Alliance International.
She is both a dedicated Ashtanga practitioner and a passionate teacher. She specializes in teaching Ashtanga for beginners, offering various movement options that allow students to enjoy the practice fully because she believes yoga is for everyone, as long as we practice gently, stay connected to our breath, and remain self-aware.
Her teaching approach is gentle and intuitive. She leads private sessions, group classes, yoga for special conditions (such as heart problems, asthma, parkinson’s, and more). She always encourages her students to focus on their breath and practice in a way that feels safe and comfortable.

Andrea
Andrea is a yoga teacher, teacher trainer, and physiotherapist with a deep interest in the healing science of yoga and the innate intelligence of the body and nervous system. Her path into yoga developed alongside her work in physiotherapy, where she came to understand that sustainable healing is rooted not only in strength or technique, but in balance, presence, and listening.
With over 20 years of experience in physiotherapy and yoga education, Andrea has been a lead teacher in 200h and 300h Yoga Teacher Trainings at Santosha Yoga Institute since 2018. She teaches anatomy, posture and technique, pranayama, meditation, Vinyasa Krama, Yin Yoga, and pre- and postnatal yoga, with a strong emphasis on practical, accessible application rather than theory alone.
Her teaching is grounded, clear, and trauma-informed, with a particular focus on the nervous system and sustainable practice. Andrea supports students through pain, injury, pregnancy, and periods of transition, encouraging a move away from force and perfection toward curiosity, self-trust, and embodied awareness. She teaches both in person and online in Bali, creating spaces where students feel safe to explore, soften, and reconnect.

Mahda
Mahda first stepped onto the mat in 2016, during her corporate days as a copywriter. At first, she was fascinated by the Sanskrit asana names—rooted in nature and animals—but what kept her was the realization that yoga goes far beyond the asana. In 2019, her journey led her to Rishikesh, where she immersed herself in a 200-hour teacher training.
Her personal practice weaves Ashtanga and Vinyasa with the grounding rhythm of Ujjayi breath, which helps her bring mindfulness into every movement. For Mahda, teaching is an act of courage—sharing a practice that continues to nurture her own growth. What inspires her most is witnessing her students grow and feel more at home in their bodies.
In her Mindful Flow classes, Mahda guides with gentleness and creativity, inviting the breath to lead the way both on and off the mat—an anchor for practice and for life.
