Our Commitment to Mother Earth
How Ubuntu Bali Practices Sustainable Yoga Retreat Living in Canggu
Ubuntu Bali is a sustainable eco yoga retreat in Canggu practicing chemical-free living, zero waste, water conservation, and locally-sourced plant-based dining.
Here, sustainability isn't just a buzzword it's woven into every breath we take, every practice we embrace, and every choice we make.
Our Earth Philosophy: Authentic Care, Not Greenwashing.
We don't hold an official eco-certification stamp. For a small independent retreat like ours, certification is prohibitively expensive but that has never stopped us from doing what's right. We practice sustainability because we believe it is simply the way to live, not for marketing points or green badges.
Andréa, our founder, grew up in Sweden a country where respecting nature is a way of being, not a lifestyle trend. After 15 years living and working in Bali, she has witnessed first hand how environmental neglect leads to real tragedy. Recent floods across the island have been worsened by garbage clogged drainage systems. Every small action matters.
This page documents exactly how we practice that belief.

Chemical-Free Products, Handcrafted On-Site
Ubuntu Bali produces its own cleaning and body care products in house, using natural ingredients and locally made essential oils. This is one of the most distinctive features of our sustainable retreat.
Natural Mosquito Spray. Our most praised creation. Guests consistently report it is the only natural mosquito spray they have found in Bali that actually works. Made from local essential oils.
Soap Nut Body Wash. A luxurious, fully chemical free body wash made from soap nuts, enriched with locally produced essential oils.
Eco Room Cleaners. Every space at Ubuntu is cleaned with our homemade natural cleaners, formulated without harsh chemicals.
Our Impact Statement
"When I see devastation that poor waste management can cause contributing to floods that destroy homes and take lives I know these small actions matter. Every chemical free soap we make, every plastic bottle we avoid, every piece of waste we properly sort is a small act of love for this island that has given us so much."
